The 2023 Honda Accord: yet another great car
With its hexagonal grille and sleek lines, the new 2023 Honda Accord has benefitted from a successful modern esthetic upgrade. Although the wheelbase remains unchanged, this 11th-generation Accord is slightly longer and wider in the body, adding a little more bite to its almost Italianate elegance. The horizontally elongated taillights are also in good taste. What’s more, the automaker has refreshed the passenger compartment, employing elements similar to those in the recently redesigned Civic and CR-V. The result is a sedan that’s pleasant to look at.
The 2023 Honda Accord: dependability, agility and efficiency
This midsize sedan is also pleasant to drive. Honda engineers have tuned the steering and suspension, resulting in more precise, comfortable, stable handling. The EX model of the 2023 Honda Accord features a 1.5 L inline-four turbo engine. This highly responsive powertrain offers reasonable overall (city-highway) fuel consumption, ranging from 7.2 to 7.5 liters per 100 km, depending on the version selected. It unleashes its 192 horsepower more freely, partly thanks to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Among all the models in the 2023 Honda Accord lineup, you’ll find the greatest efficiency in the Sport and Touring versions, both of which feature a hybrid powertrain. At the heart, there’s a 2.0 L Atkinson cycle engine, while two electric motors complete the system. The combination delivers more punch, generating at least 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque, as well as estimated overall fuel consumption of only 5 liters per 100 kilometers.
Well equipped and safe
Inside, the new Honda Accord is ergonomic and luxurious, but understated. All of the features related to comfort are there. With improved seats, mesh-covered air vents, black trim and a standard touchscreen (12.3 inches in the hybrid models), the esthetic updates will please the vast majority of motorists.
A Google infotainment/connectivity system and over-the-air (OTA) software updates are optionally available. Meanwhile, the Honda Sensing system, which comes standard, now includes Low-Speed Braking Control, Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) and Traffic Jam Assist (TJA).
