The 2024 Honda Civic comes in several different versions, as well as sedan and hatchback configurations. Honda has designed the hatchback model to be both sportier and more practical. For example, it offers more than 1,200 liters of cargo volume (with the rear seats folded flat).
The 2024 Civic is sure to please. Even in the basic LX version, the automaker has elevated the quality of assembly, the workmanship in the passenger compartment and the driving pleasure the vehicle provides. Honda has positioned its star product among the other affordable premium vehicles in the compact category in Quebec. Meanwhile, the punchier Si and Type R versions can certainly give their European competitors a good run for their money.
The 2024 Honda Civic: excellent motors under the hood
Honda has installed an efficient 2.0 L inline-four engine (158 hp/138 lbf·ft) in the 2024 Civic. This powertrain is dependable and relatively energetic, as is the continuously variable transmission (CVT), which comes standard on the “non-sporty” versions. Moreover, it achieves good ratings when it comes to combined fuel economy, which ranges from 6.9 to 8.0 liters per 100 km, depending on the version. You should also note that a six-speed manual transmission is available on the hatchback models.
The other standard engine is a 1.5 L inline-four turbo, which produces 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. The Si version bumps these figures up to 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet. The Type R, which is unique and peppy, thanks to its firm adaptive suspension, super-precise steering and six-speed short-shift transmission, relies on a high-performance 2.0 L inline-four turbo engine that delivers 315 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.

Everything you need for driving pleasure
As is customary in the industry, the 2024 Honda Civic sees an increase in luxury and comfort as you make your way to the higher trim levels. It offers all the safety, connectivity and driver assist features that you’ll find in other comparable cars. Notably, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, the lane-keeping assist system, collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control and forward-collision warning are all standard equipment on every model.
