AJAC awards Car of the Year to Honda Civic Hybrid

The Honda Civic Hybrid 2025 has been crowned Canadian Car of the Year by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC). The award, presented annually to a model that has stood out for its performance, innovation and value, underlines the excellent work Honda has done on this new generation of the Civic. It's not the first award for this model, which has accumulated accolades since its launch.

Built right here at home

The Honda Civic Hybrid is assembled in Canada, making it a car designed with local needs and driving conditions in mind. Its design combines reliability, fuel efficiency and driving pleasure. Available as a sedan or hatchback, the Civic Hybrid is positioned at the top of the Civic 2025 range.

Impressive performance

This hybrid model features a two-motor system producing a combined output of 200 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque. This is the most powerful Civic ever offered, apart from the sporty Type R version. Despite this power, it retains excellent fuel efficiency, making it an attractive option for fuel-conscious drivers.

A series of awards

The AJAC award adds to an already long list of distinctions. The Civic Hybrid was also named North American Car of the Year 2025, as well as receiving a 10Best award from Car and Driver magazine, and being chosen as Best Overall Car and Best Compact Car 2025 by AutoTrader. These awards confirm the vehicle's quality and the satisfaction of industry experts.

A popular model in Quebec

The Honda Civic has long been a popular choice in Quebec and across Canada. In 2024, it retained its title as the best-selling compact car in the country. The introduction of the hybrid version further strengthens its position, responding to a growing demand for greener vehicles, without compromising on performance or style.

AJAC's award to the Honda Civic Hybrid 2025 confirms the model's important place in the Canadian market. Designed in Canada, efficient, economical and already the winner of several awards, the Civic Hybrid represents a natural evolution for drivers who want to combine reliability with environmental awareness. At Honda dealerships in Quebec, this model is already eagerly awaited by customers looking for a car that is both modern and well adapted to their reality.
